Citizens of Pakistan aged 19 and up will be able to register for coronavirus vaccines
Pakistan has stated that starting tomorrow, citizens aged 19 and up would be able to register for coronavirus vaccines. The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) made the decision on Wednesday, according to NCOC chief Asad Umar.
“At today’s NCOC meeting, we voted to allow everyone aged 19 and older to register for coronavirus vaccines. This registration will begin the next day. As a conclusion, registration will be available to the entire national population who have been authorized by health experts for covid-19 vaccine,” he wrote.
Pakistan had allowed registration for people aged 30 and up 10 days earlier, on May 16. As Pakistan’s vaccine supply improves and the country’s vaccination capability grows, Umar stated that the government was expanding registrations to include additional age groups.
Pakistan started registration for the coronavirus vaccine for people aged 40 to 49 years old across the country on May 3 and started walk-in vaccinations for the same age range the following day. The federal government has developed a digital platform for registration, through which a code is provided to the user, who can then go to a specified vaccination centre and get vaccinated.
