Earthquake in Pakistan on March 21, 2023.

The magnitude of the earthquake in Pakistan has been recorded as 6.8 according to the Meteorological Department of Pakistan.

The depth of the earthquake was 180 Kilometers and the epicenter of the earthquake was the Hindu kush region in Afghanistan.

Separately, the US Geological Survey (USGS) estimated the magnitude to be 6.5, based on early data.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was located close to Pakistan and Tajikistan’s borders, 40 kilometers (25 miles) south-southeast of the Afghan town of Jurm.

According to early accounts, the tremor was felt in several Pakistani areas, especially Islamabad and Lahore, as well as the Afghan capital of Kabul.

Witnesses claimed to have felt the trembling in both New Delhi, the Indian capital, and Kashmir, which is administered by India.

The Indian plate, a tectonic plate, is pressing against the Eurasian plate from the north, creating seismic activity throughout large parts of South Asia.

More than 1,000 people were killed by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 in eastern Afghanistan last year.
