KARACHI (Monitoring Desk) Ahead of the April 29 by elections NA 249 on April 29, 2021 region have chosen Prime Minister Imran Khan as their choice political leader, holding his margin against PMN-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
PM Imran Khan was declared the winner in 2 of the 3 polls, while Nawaz Sharif was ranked the most prominent in the third. Ipsos, Pulse Consultant, and Gallup Pakistan issued results of the survey dependent on 1,200 to 1,400 registered voters in the region. All three polls of by election NA 249 were conducted between April 10 and April 20, 2021. PM Imran Khan was the most influential leader in the region, according to an Ipsos poll, with 20 percent of respondents choosing him.
Nawaz Sharif was chosen by 16 percent, Mustafa Kamal by 16 percent, Khadim Hussain Rizvi by 5 percent, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari by 4 percent, Maryam Nawaz Sharif by 4 percent, Maulana Fazlur Rehman by 3 percent, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui by 3 percent, Sirajul Haq by 1 percent, Asif Ali Zardari by 1 percent, and Shahbaz Sharif.
In a poll conducted by Pulse Analyst, 18 percent of constituency voters said they supported Prime Minister Imran Khan, followed by 16 percent who said they supported Pak Sarzameen Party chief Mustafa Kamal, 10 percent who supported Nawaz Sharif, 7 percent who supported Khadim Hussain Rizvi, 6 percent who supported Benazir Bhutto, and 5 percent who supported Farooq Sattar, Pervez Musharraf was favoured by 4 percent, Maryam Nawaz by 3 percent, and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui by 2 percent in the by elections NA 249.
19 percent chose Prime Minister Imran Khan as their favourite, while 8 percent chose PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, 5 percent chose Pervez Musharraf, 3 percent chose Mustafa Kamal, 3 percent chose Fazlur Rehman, 2 percent chose Maryam Nawaz, 1 percent chose Shahbaz Sharif, 1 percent chose Asif Ali Zardari, 1 percent chose Sirajul Haq, and 1 percent chose Benazir Bhutto. The remaining 22 percent said they don’t have a favourite among the candidates listed.
Not only was PM Imran Khan considered as the most suitable political leader in 2 out of 3 polls, but PTI was also chosen as the preferred political party. In the Ipsos Pakistan poll, 15 percent of respondents said PTI was their first preference, while 19 percent of participants in the Pulse Consultant poll said PTI was their preferred party.
