UNITED NATIONS (Monitoring Desk) As the deaths in Palestine rises to 145, in answer to reporters’ inquiries, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he was “dismayed” by civilian casualties in Gaza and “very worried” by Israel’s raid on a building housing international media outlets.

The remarks came as Israel pounded the Gaza Strip with airstrikes, killing ten members of an extended family and razing a 13-story Gaza building that housed Qatar-based Al Jazeera and The Associated Press news agencies, with Palestinian militants retaliating with rocket fire.

The escalating number of civilian casualties, including the killing of ten members of the same family, included children, as a result of an Israeli attack in Gaza’s al-Shati camp yesterday night, concerns the Secretary-General. The United Nations Security Council was scheduled to convene on Sunday to examine the unrest.
