CANADA: With his 1,767th career start, Patrick Marleau has tied Gordie Howe for the most games played in the National Hockey League (NHL). Marleau has played 1,595 games with the San Jose Sharks, 164 matches with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and eight matches with the Pittsburgh Penguins throughout his career.
Marleau is in his 21st term with the Sharks, having spent the previous two seasons with the Maple Leafs (2017-2019) before switching to San Jose last term. In February 2020, he was moved to the Penguins and signed a one-year deal with the Bay Area club. When the Sharks meet the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday, Patrick Marleau, 41, has a chance to break the all-time matches played record.
