Results of Gilgit-Baltistan election of 19 seats completed

ISLAMABAD, GILGIT (Monitoring Desk) The results of Gilgit-Baltistan election are coming out. The counting of votes is still going on following yesterday’s voting. 23 seats were elected, of which 19 seats had full non-official provisional results. Independent candidates secured 7 seats, 6 seats for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, 4 seats for PPP, one seat for Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and one seat for PML-N.

Full results from 4 seats have yet to arrive in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. PTI leads in 2 constituencies, PML-N in 1 circle and PPP in 1 circle. Meanwhile, PPP Gilgit-Baltistan Information Secretary Sadia Danish has said that fraud in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections could prove to be a national security problem for the region.
