LAHORE- All Pakistan WAPDA Hydroelectric Workers Union organized power department workers celebrated “Protest Day” in all major cities across the country. In a rally in front of the Lahore Press Club, they demand to Government to control inflation. Sugar Rs.105 per Kilo gram and flour has reached at price Rs.70 per Kilo Gram.

Life-saving drugs have become 264% more expensive, from which to live difficult for poor people and workers people. Khurshid Ahmed General Secretary Union has demanded from the Government to reduce the prices of basic necessities of life. Increase the salaries and pensions of Government, semi-Government and media employees by 30%.

On the IMF pressure, stop to privatization of thermal power houses and distribution companies. Recruitment of field staff, line staff vacancies and referendum to be held in WAPDA.
