ISLAMABAD (Monitoring Desk) Leading journalist Rauf Klasra says that Shahbaz Sharif while talking to media after his release on parole talked of grand dialogue. While this does not sound like an unusual occurrence, if you look at any of the other problems, it is getting more and more meaningful. Behind this there is a story. Khawaja Asif also stressed the need for national dialogue while appearing on a private TV show, stating that the media should sit down and have a dialogue.
A few days ago, Maryam Nawaz had said that she was happy for the talks. Though it was conditional on the downfall of the government of Imran Khan, it can be understood from a negotiating point of view. Both these aspects are interconnected. ISI Chief General Faiz Hameed was asked about the situation in the country during a briefing at ND University a few weeks ago, to which he responded that these problems could be addressed through the National Green Dialogue.
If we look at this situation, the situation becomes clear, but the problem is whether Imran Khan will approve this recommendation. How are they going to sit down and bargain with politicians they call thief and robbers and jeopardize their whole campaign rhetoric? If one looks at the League leaders’ comments, one can infer that something is brewing, but the main concern is whether Imran Khan is ready for discussion as well. This sounds quite daunting. Is there any solution if Imran Khan does not agree? Will there be a motion of no confidence against them? It seems that in the coming days, the situation will become apparent. It is a member who since his release on parole, Sharif talked of grand dialogue while talking to the media.
