KARACHI (News reporter) The government has raised prices of electricity by up to Rs 2.89 per unit for Karachi citizens. According to the details, K Electric’s tariff was increased by the government and a notification was issued in this regard. The notification claimed that the tariff had been raised to Rs 2 per unit from Rs 1.9. Electric tariffs would be the same as other power suppliers after the rise. The increase in the price of electricity will take effect on September 1 , 2020. According to the notification. The tariff increase for K Electric was authorized by NEPRA. After the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee chaired by Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, an increase in electricity tariffs for consumers of K Electric up to Rs 2.89 was approved.
